Teresa's own garden

Purpose

Teresa's interest in gardening and design came to the fore when she moved to her present home in Shropshire in 1991 and took on a large, overgrown garden.

Today, the garden comprises a number of separate areas which are divided up by pergolas, hedging and pathways. Each area is linked to the other through the use of common materials, repeat planting and 'windows' into the next space. The garden now provides a testing ground for planting combinations and ideas. Teresa says "I want to be confident that whatever I advice my clients to do or use will not only provide them with an attractive garden but will also prove to be practical and sustainable".

The planting

Three years ago Teresa and her husband acquired a neighbouring pasture and large natural pool which they are now 'sensitively managing' to provide habitats for a wide range of wildlife.
